Mavillette Beach is a fabulous spot to enjoy the sun and sand.  When the tide goes out, the shallow warm water becomes a great place for the toddlers to play.  Lifeguards patrol the beach and change facilities are available as well.   A great place for the family or a romantic stroll for two down the boardwalk.  The beach is surrounded by marram grass-covered dunes and a great location for bird watching with a tremendous variety of species.

Fort Anne National Historic Site is less than an hours drive from the Inn.  Set on the banks of the Annapolis River, this historic site gives visitors a glimpse of an era when Europe's powers battled for supremacy in North America.  The fort has a museum where visitors can see centuries-old artifacts and Heritage Tapestry.  Outside are defensive ditches, banks and bastions as well as a 300 year old Garrison Graveyard, where soldiers and civilians have been buried since the 1630's.  Fort Anne is the first stop for any avid history buff.
